Help Wanted: Topeka Has Parks & Recreation Jobs

TOPEKA -- The City of Topeka announced applications are currently being accepted for both full-time and part-time Parks & Recreation of Topeka summer positions. The length of employment for these positions will vary by position from March through November. Most positions will work from late May through early August. The work hours and rate of pay vary by position.

According to City employment recruiter Michele Smith, some of the many positions available include Camp Directors, Camp Counselors for specialty day camps such as Back to Nature Camp, Sports Camp, Civitan Camp (for persons with disabilities), and Helen Hocker Theater Camp, as well as swimming pool lifeguards, swimming instructors and cashiers. The minimum age for most of these jobs is 18, although a few may be filled by 16 and 17 year olds.

These jobs fill up fast, so apply now! Most hiring will be completed by early March. The final deadline for application is Friday, April 2nd.
