From cutting the ribbon to sipping the soda, local business leaders say they're glad the new Coca-Cola sales and distribution center stayed in Topeka.
The new 45,000 square foot facility out at Forbes Field helped the center grow from 46 to more than 70 employees. The center did have offers from other cities, including Junction City. But employees say it was more than location that made them decide to stay.
"Primarily it was the people, they just really sold us on Topeka."
The Topeka Chamber of Commerce offered a $170,000.00 grant to help seal the deal. It's part of a local economic development tax based on performance, given over four years.
