Fort Riley Soldier Originally from Michigan Killed in Iraq

Another Fort Riley soldier has been killed in Iraq.

The father of Specialist David Anthony Wilkey Junior was in a Humvee convoy hit by a roadside bomb yesterday. Wilkey is the 109th Ft. Riley soldier to be killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The 32-year-old Wilkey was born in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and grew up in Wilson. As a teenager, he moved to Elkhart, Indiana.

Wilkey was married with two children and one on the way.

Wilkey was based out of Fort Riley and nearby Clay Center was his most recent home.

A memorial service is planned at Fort Riley. Wilkey will be buried in Michigan.
