The vote aimed at easing the process for school districts to recruit and hire teachers from other states and nations.
Today's vote means teachers will no longer be required to have earned a 2.5 grade-point average in college to be eligable for hire in Kansas.
Teachers will continue to be required to pass the exams in the subjects they teach in order to obtain a license.
The new policy will also allow a licensed teacher with an endorsement in one science subject to gain a second endorsement by passing the state's content exam.
