Courthouse Set to Reopen
A break in a water main leading to the Shawnee County Courthouse caused officials to close down the Courthouse for the day Tuesday. Video caught on the surveillance camera shows the east parking lot filling with water and also water bubbling out from the ground next to the courthouse.
The broken water main, which was installed back in the early 1960's, is a challenge to get to since right next to it is a gas line leading to the Courthouse.
All court cases Tuesday were canceled and those needing to go to the Treasures office to get car tags were asked to go to the White Lakes Annex.
The Courthouse will reopen Wednesday.
