A piece of heavy equipment struck a gas line this morning forcing two people from their home.
Topeka firefighters say it happened just after eight this morning in the 900 block of Lane Street.
Fire officials say a contracting company was digging in the area when their equipment struck a four inch high pressured gas line.
No one was hurt, but two people were evacuated from a nearby house as a precaution.
