Ideas Needed for Kansas' 150th Anniversary

TOPEKA -- January 29, 2011 will mark 150 years of statehood for Kansas. The Kansas Governor’s Cultural Affairs Council is hosting the second in a series of brainstorming and idea-sharing sessions to develop plans for statewide commemorations of “Kansas 150.” The meeting will be 1 p.m. this Friday, November 13th, at the Kansas Historical Society, 6425 SW 6th Avenue, in Topeka.

The public is invited to join representatives from the Kansas Historical Society, Kansas Humanities Council, Kansas Division of Travel and Tourism, Kansas Arts Commission, State Library of Kansas, Kansas Film Commission, Kansas African-American Affairs Commission, Kansas Hispanic and Latino American Affairs Commission and the Kansas Governor's Office in a lively discussion on ways that every Kansas community can become involved.
