House Approves Restricting Picketers at Funerals

Unanimous approval from the Kansas House today on restricting picketers at funerals.

The action was prompted by the Westboro Baptist Church's actions at services for U.S. troops killed in combat.

Under the bill, picketers won't be able to get closer than 150 feet from one hour before to two hours after the service.

The bill now heads to the senate, which previously passed a 300-foot restriction.

Both versions call for court approval of its constitutionality before it becomes law.
