Topeka Mayor Bill Bunten remains in the hospital after heart surgery this weekend. The Mayor was working in his yard Sunday when he felt a tightness in his chest.
City spokesperson David Bevens says the Mayor's wife took him to Stormont-Vail where he underwent an angioplasty that afternoon to unclog a blocked artery.
Bevens says Mayor Bunten hopes to be out of the hospital Wednesday and back in the office by Thursday.
Deputy Mayor Jeff Preisner will lead Tuesday night's city council meeting.
