DENVER (AP) A Paola, Kansas man is in serious condition after he and two others were shot in Denver Sunday morning. A Wamego student is also recovering from his wounds.
A spokesperson for Denver Health Medical Center says 22-year old Ian Dumpert of Paola is listed in serious condition after the robbery and shootings. 22-year old John Watt of Wamego is in fair condition, while a 23-year old Illinois man is reported in fair condition.
The three were part of a group of seven who were in Colorado for a concert. Most of them drove over from Kansas State University, and were robbed by two men Sunday morning. Even though the students complied and gave the bandits their money, they were shot anyway.
Four others were not injured: Dakota Hensley and Ken Giefer of Manhattan, Trenton Foster of Lawrence, and a Colorado man who was with the group. Police believe the two masked men have shot six people in Denver since last Friday.
