Shots fired on a busy highway in North Topeka Friday afternoon led to a police chase and foot search.

Police say they got a report around 1 p.m. that a maroon Lexus was shooting at a dark-gray Chevy Corsica near Highway 24 and Rochester Road. Officers ended up chasing the Lexus, tracking it and the suspects to a trailer court at Highway 24 and North Kansas Avenue.

Officers located the Lexus there. A search turned up two suspects, both of whom were taken into custody.

Detectives were still investigating late Friday afternoon. No one was injured, and it was not known whether the shots fired damaged anything in the area.

A maroon-colored vehicle is being sought in connection with an early-morning shooting at 8th and Polk. However, they believe that vehicle is an Impala. They do not believe this incident is related to the morning shooting.
