KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ A body recovered this week from the Kansas River was that of a missing kayaker who capsized earlier this month.
The Wyandotte County coroner's office in Kansas City, Kansas, ruled 34-year-old Ladd Fish's death a drowning.
The father of five from Edwardsville disappeared March 6th while he was kayaking with a friend on the river near Interstate 435 when his kayak capsized in the frigid water. Fish's friend reached the shore. His empty kayak washed up about 150 yards downstream.
A fisherman spotted the body Wednesday evening near where he had disappeared two weeks earlier.
