TOPEKA -- The Kansas Arts Commission is seeking nominations for the 2010 Governor’s Arts Awards to be handed out next spring. Deadline for nominations is this Thursday, October 15, 2009.
The Governor of Kansas and the Kansas Arts Commission annually honor artists, organizations, businesses, communities and arts supporters who have made outstanding arts and cultural contributions to Kansas and the nation.
The 2010 awards will be given in six categories – Artist, Arts Advocate, Arts Community, Arts-in-Education, Arts Organization and Arts Patron. Nominations are accepted from members of the public, selected by a panel and honored at a reception and awards ceremony hosted by the Kansas Arts Commission on March 11, 2010 in Topeka.
