TOPEKA -- The Topeka Metro Transit Authority welcomed an audience to give them feedback on changing Topeka fixed bus routes and possibly eliminating evening and Sunday bus service. The hearing was the first of four planned this month.
The second public meeting will also be held at the Topeka Public Library, next Thursday at noon, followed by a downtown session at the Quincy Street Station, October 20th at 3:00pm. The final public meeting coincides with the TMTA board meeting, Wednesday, October 28th at 8:00am.. again at the Quincy Street Station.
In a related note, Community Action will be providing limited numbers of one-month Topeka Transit bus passes at no charge to customers. Applicants must be least 18 years old, use the bus to get to work or their vocational training site, and meet the specified income requirements.
