WAMEGO -- A small church in Varazdin, Croatia and its local, full-time, missionary will benefit from a charity motorcycle ride in Wamego on October 10, 2009. The 95 mile ride will begin at the Wamego City Sports Complex parking lot and wind through the beautiful Flint Hills of Northeast Kansas, passing through the towns of St. Marys, Maple Hill, Eskridge, Alta Vista, and Alma. Each rider will be provided a t-shirt, lunch, and two raffle tickets for prizes.

The motorcycle ride is sponsored by “A Heart for Croatia”, a ministry of the Manhattan Church of Christ. The Manhattan church has supported the Varazdin church since 2004 and has sent multiple mission teams to Croatia. The teams have worked with the church in a variety of activities including English conversation lessons, VBS-style activities, church camps, teaching baseball, and constructing a playground. Croatia is a country working hard to recover from years of Communist rule and civil war. The Varazdin church members truly have a heart for their countrymen. They are working hard to share the love and example of Christ with those around them.

Information concerning “Ride for Croatia” registration, fees, times, and more about the Varazdin church can be found online at www.aheartforcroatia.com.
