Trial Begins in Beau Arndt's Death
A 57 year old Topeka man is facing felony manslaughter charges after the Emporia State student was shot to death hunting geese late last year.

EMPORIA (AP) Jury selection has started in Emporia, to start the trial of a 57-year-old Topeka man. Theron Thomas Kent is accused in the December shooting death of a goose hunter in Lyon County. Kent is charged with felony involuntary manslaughter and three misdemeanors in the death of 18-year-old Emporia State University freshman Beau Arndt of Americus.

Arndt and a friend were setting out goose decoys in a rural section of Lyon County.. when he was hit by a shot fired from a passing pickup truck.
