One Victim Identified in Lawrence Double Homicide

(Lawrence, KS) - A news conference was held at 9:00 Monday morning at the Law Enforcement Center. Sgt. Paul Fellers identified one of the deceased men at 18 year-old Gage Hauke from Mclouth. The 20 year-old was not identified by police but flowers left at the home had a note attached that read R.I.P. Roland.

Police say the homicides occurred after an attempted robbery went sour. The 16 year-old and Hauke were planning to rob the home at 1311 Delaware. The 20 year-old lived at the residence and police say he allegedly used a shot gun to kill 18 year-old Hauke. Sometime after that police say the 16 year-old allegedly shot the 20 year-old. The second weapon found was a rifle.

13 News questioned neighbors Monday afternoon who said they wouldn't be surprised if drugs were involved. One neighbor said she had noticed people going in and out of the house at all hours of the day and night. She also says she noticed increased traffic on weekends.

(Lawrence, KS)-- A 16-year-old from Lawrence was arrested Sunday in connection to the shooting death of an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old in Lawrence.

The teen has been booked into the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center where he faces charges of felony murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery.

Around 2:45 Saturday morning Lawrence Police received several reports of gunshots on Lawrence's east side.

Lawrence Police responded to a house on the 1300 block of Delaware and found two deceased white men and one weapon in the home and another about a block away.

Police say there was no information surrounding the scene that made it obvious as to how the men died.

Neighbors living in the area say they have never seen anything like this happen there. They say they were shocked to hear two men had been found dead.

Investigators continue to look through evidence.
