WASHINGTON -- Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Jim Slattery
is releasing a list of every company or group he ever lobbied for
and the type of work he did while he worked at a major Washington
The former congressman from Topeka says he's providing the
information in the interest of openness and accountability.
The list includes 40 companies and associations ranging from
Kansas City-based utility Aquila Inc. to paper giant Weyerhaeuser
Slattery is seeking the right to challenge Republican incumbent
Sen. Pat Roberts. First, he'll face rail engineer Lee Jones in August's Democratic primary.
Roberts' campaign has criticized Slattery for leaving Kansas to
make money working for special interests.
