Collective Brands Appeal

Topeka-based shoe giant Collective Brands, which folded the Payless name into its operation last year, is asking a court to set aside or at least reduce a large $305 million judgment Adidas won against them. A federal jury in Oregon found that Collective Brands illegally copied the famous Adidas 3-stripe logo on a brand of its shoes. Adidas filed the lawsuit aganst Payless 7 years ago, alleging trademark violation.

There's been no immediate decision from the Oregon court.
