A small group of family members and law enforcers surrounded the Police Memorial outside Topeka's Law Enforcement Center this morning. A gun salute honored the officers whose names are engraved on that memorial. Families of Tony Patterson, Jeff Howey and Joey Bohlender visited the gravesites to pay their annual honors. Former Chief Ed Klumpp and Chief Ron Miller also traveled from place to place to be with the families.
Tonight, Topekans are invited to the Statehouse at 8:30 for the candlelight vigil honoring the law enforcers who gave their lives for their departments.. and the people of Shawnee County.
