Investigators in the Atchison county town of Effingham are still sifting through ashes, looking for leads in the April 21st fire that destroyed the century-old St. Anne's Catholic Church. The church was completely engulfed in flames when the fire broke out a week ago Monday morning. The Atchison County Sheriff's office says the experts are leaning toward ruling the fire cause is accidental. But they're not ruling out the possibility the fire was deliberately set.
If you have any information or tips about the fire or its cause, call the Atchison County department at (913) 367-4323.
