NEAR ST. LOUIS (CNN) -- At least 15 people were injured Tuesday when a school bus overturned in Washington County, Missouri, officials said.
Of the 15 hurt, at least 10 are children. Twelve of the victims had or were being transported to Washington County Memorial Hospital, said spokeswoman Leah Osbahr. Seven already arrived, all children, who were being treated for fractures and lacerations, she said.
The other three victims were taken to St. Louis Children's Hospital, said spokeswoman Jackie Furman.
Missouri Highway Patrol Sgt. Al Nothum said that authorities received a call about an overturned school bus about 3:15 this afternoon. Later, aerial video of the accident scene showed a school bus being towed.
The accident happened in southern Washington County in the area of Belgrade, KMOV-TV reported. It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
