TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - An annual sporting clays fundraiser took aim at helping the kids at TARC, and the results were right on target.
Monday afternoon, 13's Chris Fisher, along with Dr. Eric Johnson presented a check to TARC in the amount of $14,497, blowing away the $10,000 goal originally set.
The funds raised came from Saturday's 4th annual Sporting Clays For Kids at Ravenwood Lodge, and from an after party held later that evening featuring Dr. Johnson's cover band.
Chris was able to make over a third of the money, under the gun, when he hit 39 out of 50 targets at Ravenwood on Saturday. Pledges made each target was worth $142.
The money will go directly to the Children's Service Programs at TARC.
