One person was ejected from their mini van when it collided with another van on NW Topeka Boulevard.

That person later died from injuries sustained.

It happened just after six o'clock Sunday evening on Topeka Boulevard at North West 82nd street. A van collided with another van, sending one of them into a power poll snapping it on impact in three places.

Both drivers had serious injuries and sent to area hospitals. Life star was called in but cancelled in flight, the victims were transported by ambulance.

"It looks like one of the vehicles failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the other vehicle as it was passing," said Sgt. Akim Reynolds of the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
