Kelsey Smith's family says they are "bitterly disappointed" that the trial for the man accused of kidnapping and killing their daughter is delayed. Kelsey's father, Greg Smith, sys the delay will only cause his family additional hardship. He said Kelsey's sister, Lindsey, will have to change her August wedding date, and her college graduation also be affected by the decision from Judge Peter Ruddick.

Ruddick has apologized for delaying the trial, set to begin next June 2nd. That would be the one-year anniversary of the tragedy that began at a Target store in Overland Park, and ended with Kelsey's body being found by Longview Lake near Martin City, Missouri.

Edwin Hall is charged with capital murder, rape, kidnapping, and sodomy. Prosecutors say they plan to seek the death penalty if Hall's convicted next year.
