Kansas Senator Sam Brownback found himself in the middle of the battle for conservative Christian votes this week. Brownback on Wednesday endorsed Senate colleague John McCain of Arizona for the Republican Presidential nomination.
Brownback called the former Vietnam War POW the "right pro-life candidate to beat Democrat Hillary Clinton." Another conservative, evangelist Pat Robertson, threw his support to Rudy Giuliani. He says the former New York City mayor has a "hopeful vision for all Americans."
A statement from Giuliani's campaign did not address the former mayor's support for abortion and gay rights, which has placed Giuliani in conflict with social conservatives.
