Man in Moped Accident Friday Dies

A seventy-three year-old man, involved in a moped accident last Friday died, Topeka police reported Monday. James E. Bagby was reportedly heading north on Kansas Blvd. in Topeka around 10:30 a.m. when he collided with a Geo Metro going east on 12th.

Bagby was rushed to a local hospital and from there air lifted to KU Medical Center. The driver in the Metro, 52 year-old Mark B. White of Topeka was not hurt.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine if injuries sustained from the accident directly led to his death.

Topeka police continue to investigate the accident and ask anuyone with information or may have sen the accident to call the Accident Reconstruction Unit at 368-9227.
