170 troops returned to Kansas after a year in Iraq. They spent that time training Iraqi security forces and protecting convoys and patrols.
The soldiers assigned to Battery B, 1st Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment were welcomed back at Fort Riley Tuesday. Family members and friends were on hand for an emotional reunion.
13 News spoke with family members before the ceremony, and they said it is tough to have their spouses overseas. They have to raise children on their own, and look after everything.
It is all worth it to have the troops back home to them.
