Topeka was named the "5th Greenest City in America" on June, 25, 2007. The prize: 5,000 energy-efficient incandescent light bulbs.
You can pick up your free light bulb at your local community center. One per houshold, please... while supplies last.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the new farm bill will cost taxpayers $955 billion over the next 10 years. About 80 percent of this money will go to nutrition assistance programs, such as food stamps, for the needy.
