CAART's Pet Food Pantry has a distribution coming up on Saturday, September 4th, and they need DOG FOOD, CAT FOOD AND KITTY LITTER. Electric bills have sky rocketed with this heat wave and pet owners are really facing tough times. CAART is getting new referrals daily and we WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOOD for our distribution in September. We're hoping someone from the media will pick up our story, but we really need to do what we can to spread the word ourselves!
In addition to our Pet Food Pantry Division, our Crisis Sheltering Division currently has 2 cats and 8 dogs being sheltered at Dog Day Afternoon, with one more expected to arrive later this week.
For those that wish to help: Pet food and litter can be dropped of at Pet Food Pantry bins at: PetCo, Banfield Vet Clinic in PetSmart, Dog Day Afternoon, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and Premier Farm and Home.
If you'd like to help financially, checks can be dropped off at Dog Day Afternoon at 8235 SW 10th, or mailed to: Topeka Community Foundation, 5431 SW 29th Street, Suite 300, Topeka, KS, 66614
