Shawnee County Roadway Speed May Go Up Save Email Print

The speed limit may go up on one stretch of Shawnee County roadway.

Commissioners will take up that issue Monday whether or not to raise the speed limit on southeast 29th street to 40 miles per hour. Right now the limit is 35.

The areas affected is 29th from Wittenberg Road west to the City of Topeka limits. They're also looking at putting a speed limit of 40 on Southwest 29th from Mission Woods drive to Arvonia.

Commissioners will discuss the issue Monday.
