Bobo's Drive-In is expecting a visit from The Food Network. The show Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives is scheduled to be at Bobo's on Thursday.

The Drive-In has been a staple in Topeka for 50 years. In May, the Drive-In got new owners, Richard and Tricia Marsh, who are intent on keeping the tradition alive. The Marsh's have replaced the floor and have plans to restore the Drive-In to its original state.

People come from all over the country to have a burger and a piece of apple pie at Bobo's. The Bobo's secret recipe remains locked in a safe and will continue to be served on a daily basis for a long time. The Marsh's say they hope to pass the Drive-In on to their children one day.

When will the episode be aired on the Food Network Channel? I went to Washburn Nursing school in Topeka (grad. '78) and ate at BoBo's as often as I could (student budget allowing !). I'm thrilled that such a wonderful tradition will be shown on TV for everyone to see. Not all the cool places are in the big cities !!

My mother, Ruth Cowen, worked for Bobo's #1 (1221 SW Huntoon) for about 40 years. I worked for them as a carhop in the early 60's. Glad to see the recognition for a privately owned drive-in.
